Lisbon Week returns in 2015 with a new layout

Lisbon Week is a cultural and artistic event that in its first two editions took place in the fall, and will now be held biennially at Easter time for strategic reasoning, and focused on a different parish with each new edition; the next edition is to be held in Alvalade. “The biennial frequency of the event will give the organization more time to prepare each edition (…),” says Xana Nunes, founder of the project. The Lisbon Week institution is betting on Easter, as a way to meet their own goals as well as support the local community events that are not filled to capacity during this time of year. The idea of highlighting a single locale comes from the want to go beyond the cultural programs, and Alvalade was chosen for the lifestyle it offers, the architecture of its buildings and open spaces, and the fact that it is removed from the city’s tourist traps.
